March 2020: printing face-shield headbands for local medical workers.

In the first weeks of COVID-19, protective equipment ran out. We pointed our printers at the gap.

Green Shoe Garage printed the headband components for face shields and donated them to our local medical community, a small piece of an enormous global effort. It was also a reminder of why a garage full of digital fabrication tools matters: when the moment calls for it, you can aim those machines at whatever the world needs next.

The printers ran around the clock, the parts went where they were needed, and that is the whole idea.
