Rising to the Challenge

When the pandemic hit, we pointed our 3D printers at the problem and printed face-shield components for our local medical community.

March 2020: printing face-shield headbands for local medical workers.

In the early days of COVID-19, personal protective equipment was hard to come by. Green Shoe Garage did its part for global relief efforts by printing headband components for face shields and donating them to our local medical community.

It was a small contribution to an enormous effort. But it was also a reminder of why a garage full of digital fabrication tools matters: when the moment calls for it, you can point those machines at whatever the world needs next.

The printers ran around the clock. The parts went where they were needed. That’s the whole idea.
